Industrial tools have been making the industrial tasks and operations easy and precise. The industrial tools are the best known friends to a person working in the industry. They allow the worker to do a task in a very less time with much better accuracy and precision. They also help in increasing the overall productivity and efficiency and of the plant. Industrial tools are, basically, divided into two types- one is machine tools and the other is handheld tools. Let us discuss them in detail.
Machine tools
Machine tools are large tools, which are used to perform heavy operations, and hence they are fixed at one place in the plant. They cannot be moved frequently to different parts of the plant. The machine tools include Lathe machines, drilling machines, milling machines, Computer numeric control machines etc. These machine tools are used for performing operations on a large scale or for mass production.
Handheld tools
Handheld tools are the ones, which are smaller in size and are used for performing smaller task and can be moved easily from one point to another within the plant. Some of eth handheld tools are:
Hand drills-Hand drills are used for making holes for nuts, studs and fasteners. Although holes can also be made manually, but it will take a long time and also it will not be very accurate, and, on the other hand, drills make the task easy and fast with great precision. Drill bits used in hand drills are specially designed to work on high speed and withstand high temperature and are coated with titanium for extra strength.
Hand grinders-Hand grinders are used for giving a smooth texture and fine finish to the metal surface. They are also used to eliminate the rough ends and cuts to ensure better safety at the work place. Angle grinders are used in industries to cut large metal rods and angles. In this way, they do not need to be taken to the machines tools.
Electric Welding sets- Welding is the process of creating great welds to join two different metal parts using high electric current. It uses molten metal filled between the metal parts to join them. Wielding sets are available in variable capacities and power.
Torque wrenches-Torque wrenches are used for very high precision and accurate bolting operations. Torque wrenches are very silent in operation and give a means of measuring the amount of force you have been applying on the fastener in the form of digital or analogue metres. In this way, you can stop applying force when the desired amount of force is reached. The torque wrenches are available in three different variants viz. Simple torque wrench, pneumatic torque wrench and hydraulic torque wrench.
