In any industry, there are many tools and equipments used for daily tasks that make the efficiency and productivity better. The industrial tools are the most important and the best components of any industry as they let the workers to work in a more efficient and precise way reducing the time taken for an operation. The tools used in industries are classified into two types mainly viz. fixed tools and handheld tools. The fixed tools are, usually, heavy machine tools such as milling machine, lathe machine, drilling machines, which cannot be moved frequently to different parts of the company. These machines are used for heavy operations and the work piece is needed to be brought to the machine so to be operated on.
On the other hand, the tools that are small, lightweight and portable are called handheld tools. These tools can be taken to different parts of industry for various operations. Here are some of the important handheld tools that are used in industries.
Hand grinders
The hand grinders are used for obtaining the best finish and a smooth texture for the surface of the product. The hand grinders slowly remove a very thin layer of metal from the surface of the product making it shiny, and smooth. Hand grinders are also used for removal of spatters that are formed on the metal surface during welding and also to eliminate sharp cuts and edges to ensure safety. An angle grinder is used for cutting metal rods and angles.
Wrenches
Wrenches are the tools that are used for bolting operations in any industry. Wrenches are usually classified in two types- one is impact wrench and the other is torque wrench. The impact wrenches are very powerful but are very noisy and lack in precision and accuracy. On the other hand, the torque wrenches are very precise and accurate, and also, they produce a very less amount of noise, which is good for operations where you want minimum noise.
Welding sets
Welding sets are, basically, used for joining two metal parts by inserting small amount of molten metal between them. Welding sets are available in many types such as electric welding sets, gas welding sets, MIG welding sets, etc.
Spring balancers
The biggest problem of handheld tools is that they keep the hands of the workers occupied and make the workstation crowded, thus they lower the efficiency of the worker. This problem is solved through spring balancers, which hold the tools and keep the hands of the worker free for doing other tasks.
