Boilers are used extensively in the industries where you need a high range of pressure and temperature for various different processes. Some of the major industries that depend greatly on the smooth working of boilers include sugar factories, alcohol factories, chemical plants, etc. These boilers need very high degree of care as without proper care, these boilers cannot work properly and if they do not work properly, the industries depending on them would face huge losses.
Apart from smooth working, proper boiler care is also important for better safety levels in your company. Without sufficient care, boiler becomes a live bomb that can explode anytime. In order to take good care of you boiler, the first thing you should know is that you must have enough information about the parts and components of the boiler. Here are some components of the boiler discussed
Boiler tubes
Boiler tubes are the ones that contain fluid carrying heat. It may be a gas or water. With the course of time and continuous usage, these tubes get blocked due to deposition of some foreign particles such as sludge, and scale on the inner surface of the boiler tube. Boiler tube cleaning is done to remove them and restore proper working of these tubes. Boiler cleaning is efficiently done using Boiler tube cleaning systems.
Water level indicator
In a boiler, the water level is an important factor and it must be checked regularly for better safety. If the level of the water goes down to the minimum level, it may cause severe damages to the tubes and shell of the boiler, which is not good for the boiler. In order to determine the exact level of water in the boiler, water level indicators are used in boilers.
Boiler feed pumps
Boiler always needs a continuous supply of water for continuous and smooth working. The feed pumps are used for fast and continuous supply of water to the boiler. If the feed pump of your boiler gets damaged, it can be a great problem for your boiler as low water level can severely damage the boiler. For this, you must have an extra feed pump installed to be used in case of an emergency.
Pressure Gauge
In a boiler, huge pressure is built during its operation. This pressure is used for many different processes, but it is important to keep a track of amount of pressure being generated. A pressure gauge is used in boilers for this. On every maintenance schedule, the pressure gauge should be checked for proper working. Wrong estimation of pressure in a boiler can lead to serious and severe damages.
Safety pressure release valve
When the pressure inside a boiler exceeds the maximum allowable pressure of the boiler, the safety valve automatically releases the excess of pressure for safety of the boiler. The safety valve is a must have and basic component of any boiler for better safety of the boiler, as well as the people working near it.
