Various bolting tools used in different industries

01:56 by powermasterNo comments
There are many industrial tasks that must be performed on daily basis to keep the industry running smoothly and efficiently. Bolting is one such operation. Workers perform bolting in many major areas of industries, which ensures better quality and better safety at the workplace. The safety at workplace depends greatly on eth bolting procedure performed by the workers. Bad or loose bolting not only leads to bad quality of products but also possess a huge safety threat to the life of people working in a plant. Whether it is tightening a bolt or loosening a bolt, in order to perform the bolting operations successfully and efficiently, you must use proper tools that are designed for bolting. Here is a list of some bolting tools that must be used in industries for better bolting procedures.

Open end wrenches

Open end wrenches are most commonly used type of wrenches in both industrial and domestic operations. It has a U-shaped opening at both the ends. The size of the U-shaped openings is different at both the ends which imply that a single wrench can be used for two different sizes of nut heads. The openings are inclined at an angle from the shaft so that the wrench could be easily moved and operated.

Impact wrenches

The impact wrench is the most used wrench in the industries where you need a very high power for bolting operation but very high levels of precision are not required. The impact wrenches use a very high impact force on the studs and fasteners, which rotate them and tighten them. The impact wrenches are used along with impact sockets, which are specially designed for bearing such high impacts. The ordinary sockets cannot bear such high impacts and can shatter easily hence can be a safety threat for the user. The most commonly used impact wrench in the industries is the pneumatic impact wrench, which delivers very high forces.

Torque wrench

The impact wrenches are not suitable for operations where you need very high precision; hence you will need torque wrench for such operations. The torque wrench is provided with means of measuring the force applied, hence you will know the amount of force that you have applied on the fastener so that you could stop at the right time to avoid over tightening of the fastener.

Nut splitter

When you have jammed nut that is to be removed, you need a nut splitter as it can remove the nut in very less time and with very less efforts. If you try to remove it with hammering, it might damage the assembly near the nut, and it also produces sparks, which might not be suitable for some places such as gas pipe lines, etc. The nut splitter gives you the best way of removing a jammed nut without any damage or damage.
